Rainforests

Wandering through a tropical rain forest reminds me of getting lost in my own personal terrarium.

Green and lush, moist and humid.

Reminiscent of the 70’s, terrariums were quite popular as glass enclosed garden ecosystems. Displayed on a table, counter and in many school classrooms. It’s appeal is a self cared for environment able to sustain itself.

The balance is delicate - the creation breathtaking.

Because each life form blends into the next to create leafy canopies, thick undergrowth and lots of lush variety.

Yet, with each layer is beauty and form.

Texture and shape.

I enjoy the vivid colors and soothing tones.

I have read that tropical rainforests are unable to support human life. For this alone, I appreciate it’s protection from destruction.
And give thanks for my ability to witness the beauty it has to offer and support it’s preservation.

"The clearest way into the universe is through a forest wilderness."
- John Muir
